MIKE CIARAVINO

While he traveled with his family and enjoyed his retirement, Mike kept an eye on poker, specifically NL Hold’em. With over 15 years of poker experience and cutting his teeth in Foxwoods (CT) and Atlantic City (NJ), Mike turned pro in 1999. He quickly began crushing live action and experienced tremendous success early on. However, noticing the large prize pools and weaker fields in WSOP events, Mike made the temporary transition from cash games to tournament poker. Mike has played in numerous major buy-in events to include the 2007 Main Event and 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet events.

However, in September of 2007, Mike proved that he was truly a force to be reckoned with when he won a WSOP championship in Tunica, MS. That win not only awarded Mike the coveted WSOP gold ring but it also propelled him to #1 on Bluff and Rounder Magazine’s list of the top tournament players in the State of Florida. He has since solidified himself on that list with consistent Top-10 finishes and is always a serious threat to win any event he enters.

Mike’s biggest strength is his analytical approach to the game, his ability to control pots and his understanding of the “numbers” behind the game. His grasp on outs and odds are unparalleled and highly valuable. His specialties apply to small or large tournament fields and single table sit-n-go’s. He is also a short handed live action specialist focusing on limits from $1-$2 to $25-$50 NL and beyond.

As the company’s senior instructor and Vice President of Training, Mike insures that his students receive the necessary tools to become both successful tournament and cash game players. We are proud to have Mike as a member of Team DeepStacks.
